Yay!!! I’ve finally sorted a supplier for custom made destination banners!
I love these! They’re absolutely perfect for pretty much anywhere, but I love mine at the bottom of the stairway. Each time I walk down it I’m reminded of all my favorite holidays and locations that mean a lot to me.
These are not the generic smaller and thin versions you see around, these are custom made to reflect your life and travels.
The bonus is, they can turn an awkward or dull niche, into the coolest part of the house!
Your house should always tell your story and these, quite literally, do exactly that.
Comes “stretched” on a timber frame ready to hang .
$800 plus delivery – which ranges from $50 for local Melbourne to $100 for the further states. Click on the link

Image from www.davidmetnicole.com.au
This made to order leather wingback chair from David met Nicole is stunning. Made in the traditional way by old school craftsmen using quality materials…the frame is beech wood with hand carved legs, and full steel coil sprung seat and back. English webbing and fibre is used to pad the chair, then hand sewn over with calico to insure its shape remains over time. Upholstered in English leather, the chair is then hand aged. These chairs wear in over time, not wear out.

A bit from the sublime to the ridiculous…but that’s the nature of vintage…and Izzy and Popo is all about vintage European treasures.

Whilst useful all year round, trays really come into their own in summer. There is so much outdoor entertaining in Australia that trays are a basic kitchen tool. I use them for lazy dinners in front of the TV, outdoor dining, breakfasts in bed and they’re fab as fruit holders during summer. Using trays, as opposed to bowls, means that the fruit (especially the stone fruit) are not stacked on top of each other.
This oval metal tray (Jardin Bris) from Provincial Home Living is ace and only $69.95. At 70 cm x 44 cm it’s a really useful size too.

Loving these100% cotton, double sided bedtime story pillowcases.
Third Drawer Down have teamed up with David Shrigley again to create his Bedtime Story.
“His work, unconventional and bizarre, is sopping in wet, dark, heavy molasses-y wit. He admirably tackles the conundrums of humanity, addressing fears, phobias, cruelty and love. He is absurd and he is truthful. He is David Shrigley and he now has pillowcases.”
Image from www.thirddrawerdown.com.au
I’m going to buy this and frame it… such a cool image. It’s actually a 100% Linen Tea Towel, which will only make it look better behind glass, for $50.00 .
About the artist…
“James Gallagher uses collage to investigate human form and personal identity. Piecing together images cut from found material– old books, National Geographic, and the occasional sex manual– Gallagher creates intimate scenes that are both personal and moving. James Gallagher’s art has been shown in galleries all over the world.”

This gorgeous, solid oak tray is part of a collection where the plates and bowls of various sizes can be used interchangeably to both eat and serve. So the trays double as underplates, coasters or lids for the porcelain ware. Also…just v. cool as a tray though!

And I just love this duvet cover.
A great website. A great way to spend a couple of hours in Fitzroy. And a great resource for cool interesting presents.

I know this whole number/letter thing has taken over homewares, but they do provide a great break from patterns and the trick is, now that the market is flooded with them, to find groovy takes on them… like this suede mustard “9″ from Orson and Blake.

Image from www.fernliving.com
And finally…our fifth cool little cushion is a bit more on the exxy side. This 100% silk unicycle design from Fern Living is $145. It may cost that bit more…but this isn’t going out of style anytime. Your daughters will be putting up their hands for this on will reading day.
