I know I just did a post on curtains in the bathroom, but I think they’ve been ignored in contemporary homes for the past while… and it’s time they came back. Blinds can be fantastic, but curtains give you a softness and a sense of the windows being properly dressed. I love, love love these pom poms. Such a sweet look.

You can buy pom pom trim online for less than $2.00 per yard, and pretty much anyone can sew a trim like this onto the edge of a curtain. Check out www.etsy.com for the below vanilla bean pom pom and others…

Another gorgeous way of making a statement with curtains is to have a complementing pattern on the reverse side like the image below…

By using a blind that matches the walls so it disappears (but can provide block out when down) you can go for it with a gorgeous sheer fabric like they have with this panel of black lace from Laura Ashley … utterly beautiful.

I know it’s safe and easy just to get your blind guy to do all the windows the same…but make a statement in at least one room with a beautiful curtain and you won’t regret it.
