I love the energy that red can bring into a room. I tend to use it as an accent… a dominance of red can overwhelm me a bit. Not to say that it doesn't look great… but I think it needs a lot of space, a fairly minimalist look and dramatic accessories. None of which I am or have. But adding splashes of red is fabulous for those like me who have lots of stuff and like to have it out.
