Flower power

This time of year there are still flowers in our gardens…but they don’t last long in the heat.  One way of maximising the life of your flowers, either home grown or store bought,  is to cut the stems a lot shorter.  Doing this of course means standard vases are too tall for the blooms…which is a great opportunity to be creative.

Opportunity shops have heaps of sweet little bud vases, old jars, small jugs… loads of options that will set you back less than a fiver.  Using multiple small vases means you can have flowers in more areas.  So if your garden is still coming up with some splashes of colour…make the most of them and spread them around!  Some images to inspire…
