I still stand by my ban on excess cushions in the bedroom. Not necessary, actually kinda silly looking … and it adds more to the bed making routine than there needs to be – and no-one wants that. But on a couch? Or a daybed? Go for it! The more you have, the easier it is to make them look good. Make sure you have a good mix of usable (not crazy sequinned mini things you wouldn’t rest any part of your body on… ) sizes…and have fun with mixing patterns and colours for a looser, more relaxed look.
There are no rules with mixing your patterns and colours. Some people find it dead easy …others stress for days on introducing a smattering of new colour. As always… just start with what you love . So pick two comfy(!), absolutely gorgeous cushions and then work around them. It doesn’t matter if they are worlds apart… it’s usually better! Diversity is key! If your initial choices lack texture.. then make sure the next addition brings that. Too many florals? Add a geometric or a print. And so on…
Go forth and have fun!
Don’t forget to drop by the online store http://www.iwanthomewares.com.au/ Loads of yummy things to take home…
